When two mile thick icesheets cover continents, the continents sink into Earth’s mantle.  When the ice melts and the water flows away to the ocean, the continents rise again. This process is isostasy.

The rebound of the continents amounts to meters of changes, but starts more rapidly and declines with time.  The map at left show the current rates, measured in 10s of cm per century. Not perceptible, unless you are making careful measurements.
