OMI Sulfur Dioxide alerts and A-Train data

(This site is under development)
The map below shows high sulfur dioxide (SO2) concentrations detected by the Ozone Monitoring Instrument (OMI) on NASA's EOS Aura satellite. Other satellite observations from NASA's A-Train, plus some trajectory model forecasts for selected volcanoes, are also available for display. The Google Earth plug-in is required to view the alerts. Areas of elevated SO2 may be associated with volcanic activity or extreme air pollution events. The KML SO2 alert file is updated daily and will typically show alerts from the previous day.
