The footprints of where humans have marked the landscape is often striking.  We can see it clearly in the Keweenaw Waterway, where dredging the channel has defined straight lines, quite rare in nature. The dredged channels can be compared with the courses of the natural waterway in theses images, from Google Earth and Maps.
