Indigenous Cultural Elements of Keweenaw and Isle Royale

Martin's discussion will center on the long human history of the Keweenaw Peninsula, with side trips to other parts of the Lake Superior Basin.  She will discuss the many cultures that made the UP their home, and introduce some of the raw materials, including stone (lithics) and copper, that they used to build adaptations to their surroundings.

Martin will be joined by Seth DePasqual of Isle Royale National Park, who will bring us up to date on current Isle Royale archaeological research.
