Information about Marratech software: Any PC or Mac can be used for course access, but earphones (I use Ipod ones), a microphone (included on some new computers) and webcam should be attached (cost ~ $100 max). Participants need powerpoint and Marratech (free) software. We will use the MTU site for this course-already paid for!

 

Here are the Directions to Install Web Cam and Marratech:

 

1. Install web-cam and microphone in your computer

 

2. Download client software from http://www.marratech.com

 

3. Open Marratech client (6.1)

 

4. Go to tools and Viewer (unless they ask for a portal)

 

5. Enter portal site (http://emeeting.mtu.edu)

This is MTU's portal. Here login with the following ID: SuperVolcanoes   and Password: GE5185

Then request the private room: “GE5185”

Now you should be in the classroom.

 

6. Turn on three big buttons - camera, sound, mic - click on - smile at yourself. You might see MTU test camera in Educational Technology at Michigan Tech.

 

7. To get the whiteboard---click on the pencil/pad in the lower left corner.

 

8. Headphones with microphone will be useful.

 

9. Good site to purchase web - cam: www.newegg.com

Recommended: Logitech Quickcam Pro 4000 (N82E16826106014) for PC or Mac - I-sight for Mac Headphones and mic useful
