Field trip to a lahar flow (mudflow made up of volcanic material, such as ash, pumice, and lava rock).  The lahar flow was large enough to carry the large pieces of volcanic debris in the upper left portion of the picture.  This flow originated from Cotopaxi Volcano and was deposited in the 1980’s.
