I am a graduate student at Michigan Technological University, located in Houghton, Michigan.  I graduated with my M.S. in Geology from MTU in 2004 and I am now in the PhD program.  I graduated from UCLA in 2001 with a B.S. in Geology and soon after participated in a 6 month internship at the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory from January 2002 to June 2002 (above picture shows me, standing, assisting Tamar Elias with gas sampling from a lava flow).  I came to MTU in the fall of 2002.  I am planning to defend my PhD in the summer of 2008.
