José Luis Palma, Ph.D.

My research is mainly focused on physical volcanology and assessment of natural hazards in general. Recently I have been investigating the processes involved in persistent volcanic degassing using multidisciplinary approaches (measurements of gas emissions, seismicity, analogue experiments, fluid mechanics, etc). I am also interested in assessing the threat and vulnerabilities posed to the population by volcanic and other natural hazards.
