Masters International Student

Michigan Technological University

Graduating from SDSU with a bachelor degree in Geology, Jeremy Jenson received honors such as Magna Cum Laude and “Outstanding Undergraduate in Geology.”  After a semester working for SCS Engineers as a field technician he decided to pursue a Masters in Geology from MTU.  The Masters International program offered by the Geological and Mining Engineering Sciences department at MTU was the ideal fit.

A desire to work in an international setting has been part of the driving force behind recent trips to Costa Rica, Poland, and most recently Nicaragua working with local Christian kids camps.  Most

Jeremy hopes to use his knowledge in geology and related fields to bring much needed relief to underdeveloped countries suffering from a lack of resources, with potable water being a primary concern.  Remote sensing and geophysical exploration are two areas of particular interest that have great potential in relieving some of the current stresses caused by the lack, or unsustainable exploitation, of natural resources.
