Dr. Huntoon has conducted research in southeastern Utah for over 20 years. She is familiar with the geology of much of the Colorado Plateau and has previously led 12 intensive field courses for private industry, government agencies, and students. As an Associate Professor at MTU, Dr. Huntoon teaches courses in Depositional Systems, Oceanography, Sequence Stratigraphy, Basin Analysis, and Paleoclimatology.
Dr. Bluth is also an Associate Professor at MTU, where he teaches Environmental Geology, Geomorphology, Remote Sensing, and Global Climate Change. He has developed field excursions and laboratories for all of his courses, including hands-on simulations of geophysical techniques used in environmental hazard remediation. He has served as a mentor to students at NASA as part of the National Space Club program.
The two teaching assistans have prior experience leading field-based courses. They also have worked extensively with undergraduate, graduate, and secondary school students, as well as with professional geologists.
