TEACHING

I typically teach the courses listed below. The links for each course will take you to a syllabus.

Syllabus for GE3100 - Depositional Systems
Syllabus for GE2500 - Introduction to Oceanography
Syllabus for GE5110 - Sequence Stratigraphy
Syllabus for GE5120 - Basin Analysis
Syllabus for GE5940 - Paleoclimatology

FIELD COURSE: Geology of Utah's National Parks, was  offered for the first time during the summer of 2001.  This course is designed to introduce K-12 teachers and undergraduates to methods used to solve geologic research problems and to innovative teaching and learning techniques.

RESEARCH

My research focusses on the evolution of sedimentary basins. Both field and computer modeling studies are undertaken to investigate a variety of basins, primarily in North America. The links will take you to references to published information about various research projects.

Thermal Modeling of Sedimentary Basins
Sediment Transport in Sedimentary Basins
Permian-Triassic Stratigraphy, Paleogeography and Tectonics
