1. Homework must be neat. Think of it as a report you would turn into your employer not some funky professor. If I cannot follow your logic and/or steps, the problem will receive a zero.
2. Be sure to set up the problem with enough intermediate steps in case your answer is wrong. That way I can assign partial credit to the problem. Calculators are great but ...
3. Be sure each answer has the correct units.
4. On graphs, be sure each axis is labeled to include units.
5. On spreadsheet problems, be sure each column has a label (with units) and an example calculation is included to help me again in assigning partial credit when answers come up wrong.
6. If you spend more than 30 minutes trying to do a problem, you probably need help. Come and see me.
7. Start homework when it is assigned so you can come to the next class prepared to ask questions.
8. No question is too dumb.
9. Do the homework. A sure way not to pass this class is to not do the homework.
10. Read the problem and answer all parts!
11. Although late homework is not accepted there are extenuating circumstances. Talk to me, preferably before the homework is due and not after. I’ll always cut you some slack the first time if the excuse is reasonable.
