sector. Besides promoting environmental awareness |
among the community members, I completed my field work for my thesis, which involved |
developing a low-cost method for determining well productivity on rope-pump wells. The impetus behind the work stemmed from the need to include groundwater information in water resource inventory programs, which would then allow for the development of robust watershed protection plans. ¶ This research was funded by the DeVlieg Foundation, SNV-Nicaragua, and the Remote Sensing for Hazards and Resource Protection in Pacific Latin America grant (NSF-PIRE 0530109). Information in this web-page describes my thesis work and outlines my time spent in Michigan Tech’s Peace Corps Master’s International Program in Geohazards.
