Successful prospect development and expansion in Paleozoic Basins of the Permian
Basin; 50 BCF Morrow prospect;
40 BCF Wolfcamp play; multi-BCF Devonian and
Montoya plays; numerous prospects defined – successful and dry; many
Permian to Wolfcamp age oil and gas fields
developed and extended.

600 square mile 3D seismic and 400,000 acre leasing program negotiated and
approved on Fusselman play; horizontal
well Devonian and Montoya plays initiated and
expanded; 30 horizontal development wells drilled; created 2,500 well
digital log and lithology database while
Geological Advisor in conjunction with Staff.
·
Added 30MMBOE reserves while developing thermally enhanced reservoirs in the
San Joaquin Valley, California with Staff
members; 1200 wells drilled; initiated deep
Miocene exploration play and 3D seismic.
·
Implemented geologic study and computerization of a 900 well field in the San
Jorge Basin, Argentina; with co-workers
developed exploitation and waterflood
opportunities and doubled daily production;3D seismic initiated.
·
Lead for computerization and geologic analysis of a 3,600 well North Ward Estes
field in west Texas for the implementation
of a $250 MM CO2 flood; numerous
workovers, stepouts and pattern realignments completed.
· Management
of Exploitation, Exploration and Land Departments for both an independent and
major oil and gas company;
included
exploration plays, reservoir characterization, acquisitions and divestitures.
·
Negotiated exploration, development, and seismic agreements in conjunction with
attorneys and staff.
·
Extensive reservoir characterization and formation evaluation experience;
supervised the geologic well site operations
for more than 800 oil and gas wells in addition to multi-well drilling
programs.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
TECHNICAL
·
Studied and mapped Ordovician through Permian age carbonate and siliciclastic
depositional systems in west Texas and the mid-continent,
U.S.A.
to develop and evaluate regional trends, plays, leads and prospects.
·
Studied carbonate shelf and carbonate debris depositional systems and sequence
stratigraphy worldwide, and merged with Permian Basin
data
to facilitate exploration plays and field development (included horizontal
wells, waterfloods, CO2 floods and seismic inversion to steer
wells).
· Analyzed and mapped Pleistocene through Miocene
age siliciclastic reservoirs in California Basins to facilitate development of
Company heavy-oil
assets;
included horizontal wellbores in steamfloods and evaluation of exploration
plays.
·
Evaluated trends in Sacramento and LA
Basins, California and also in Washington, Montana and Alaska Basins.
·
Interpreted and mapped Cretaceous lacustrine depositional systems in the San
Jorge Basin, Argentina.
· Developed innovative techniques for the
analysis, display and storage of geological and engineering data using
mainframe to PC based
·
computer systems (GeoGraphix-Ges97,Discovery, Prizm-QLA2,
CPS3, Production Analyst, Petra and others) including the construction of large
(>1000
wells) databases for iterative multi-well analyses.
·
Evaluated acquisitions and asset sales from lease-scale to merger-scale in many
North and South American basins in a team environment and presented
economic results and strategy
recommendations.
·
Broad familiarity with the fundamentals of geology, geophysics, engineering and
business through on-the-job experience, training and literature
review; organized and conducted field trips.
·
Design and conduct detailed technical, economic and strategy presentations of
studies and recommendations
for colleagues and upper management as
required; manage budgetary and planning requirements.
·
Regularly compile definitive reports combining results and recommendations of
studies.
·
Turn out quality work while working under pressure; demanding of progress and
practicality from self, team and Staff.
·
Volunteer time and knowledge to assist co-workers and train Staff; work well
with others.
·
Able to originate and adopt new ideas to achieve goals; high level of job
knowledge.
·
Efficiently use resources of time, money, people, and information to accomplish
results.
