Morning Update
0800H 10 December, 1995

The level of seismic activity remained low throughout the night, with occassional short periods of low amplitude tremor recorded only at the Gages station. Several discreet long period events occurred in quick succession during yesterday evening and a volcano-tectonic earthquake was recorded at all stations at 03:44 this morning; this event was located beneath the Soufriere Hills volcano at a depth of c. 3 km.

Further processing of EDM and GPS data from previous days continued overnight although results of this processing are not yet available.

Mr Lloyd Lynch departed Montserrat early today after his one month visit as MVO Chief Scientist.
