Daily Report
Report for the period 16:00 on 25 November
to 16:00 on 26 November 1995

One hundred and twenty nine (129) earthquakes have been located for this period. The seismicity was mainly concentrated at depths of 0 to 2.5 km (0 to 1.5 miles) beneath Soufriere Hills volcano. Seismicity has dropped since early morning. The level and style of seismicity is consistent with continued slow dome growth within the area of English's Crater

All the seven EDM lines have been measured today. Processing of these data show very little shortening. This trend of daily shortening of a few millimetres is well below levels of immediate concern.

GPS (Global Positioning System) surveys continue to be carried out each day. Processing of the data shows a slight shortening of about one centimetre, which is within instrumental error.

Visual observations were made today from the rim of English's Crater.Emergence of a new spine adjacent to the September spine has been confirmed. Observation of the July 18 vent was hindered by steam emission from the vents.
