Daily Report
Report for the period 16:00 on 6 November
to 16:00 on 7 November 1995

Twenty-two (22) earthquakes were located during the period under review. The events were clustered beneath the Soufriere Hills Volcano. The events were mainly volcano-tectonic. Focal depths ranged from 0-8km. Fifteen (15) long period events were recorded.

Three eruption signals were recorded at 18:09 on the 6/11/95 and 01:23 and 08:15 on the 7/11/95. Ash was observed by scientists on Chance's Mtn. from the 08:15 event. No other ashfalls were reported for the other events.

Two new EDM lines were established today from O'Garra's and near the Galway's soufriere to a reflector on Chance's Peak. All the other EDM lines were re-measured today with the exception of the Tar River line. Low cloud prevented location of the reflector target at this site. The measurements at Chances Mt, Amersham, Farrells and Windy Hill continue to show no significant changes.

An attempt to examine English Crater from Chances Mt. was made this morning. Poor weather conditions prevented any views of the crater area.
