Daily Report
Report for the period 16:00 on 19 October
to 16:00 on 20 October 1995

Twenty-eight (28) earthquakes were located during the past twenty-four hours. The events were all scattered throughout the southern part of Montserrat with some clustered beneath the Soufriere Hills volcano and St. Georges Hill. The earthquakes were all volcano-tectonic and ranged in depth from 1-8km.

All the EDM sites were occupied today and the measurements remain unchanged from previous occupations. The electronic tilt station at Long Ground continue to show no significant changes.

A field team travelled to Chances Peak today to observe conditions at English's Crater. The helicopter also went up for an inspection of the crater. Despite these efforts, low level cloud cover prevented visual observation of conditions at English's Crater. The opportunity was taken during the helicopter trip to inspect the coastal geology along southern Montserrat.
