The level of volcanic activity at Soufriere Hills volcano was low today. There were 12 rockfalls and 4 volcano-tectonic earthquakes.
Surveying of the dome continued today from observation points to the north of the volcano. Measurements of the gas content of the volcanic plume also took place today using FTIR (Fourier Transform InfraRed spectroscopy).
Residents of Montserrat are advised to keep listening to ZJB Radio Montserrat for information in case of any changes in the state of the volcano.
