From MVO@candw.ag Sun Dec 6 10:38:32 1998 Date: Tue, 1 Dec 1998 17:56:16 -0400 From: MVO To: "evening report:email" , "Willy (email) Aspinall" Subject: MVO evening report, 1 December 1998 Montserrat Volcano Observatory Montserrat, W.I. Report for the period 5 p.m. 30 November to 5 p.m. 1 December 1998 The volcano has been quiet over the last twenty-four hours. The seismic networks recorded 10 rockfall signals, 7 volcano-tectonic earthquakes and one long period earthquake in this reporting period. With less rainfall than in previous days, there has been a reduction in mudflow activity on the flanks of the volcano. However, people are reminded that with the ground now saturated, any further heavy rain can give rise to floods, with even more rapid run-off than before. Residents of Montserrat are advised to keep listening to ZJB Radio Montserrat for information relating to any further developments in the state of the volcano. 17:00, 1 December 1998 From MVO@candw.ag Sun Dec 6 10:39:19 1998 Date: Tue, 1 Dec 1998 17:56:16 -0400 From: MVO To: "evening report:email" , "Willy (email) Aspinall" Subject: MVO evening report, 1 December 1998 Montserrat Volcano Observatory Montserrat, W.I.
