Daily Report
Report for the period 5 p.m. 10 September
to 5 p.m. 11 September 1998

Over the past 24 hours 4 rockfall signals, 3 hybrid earthquakes and 1 volcano-tectonic earthquake were recorded by the seismic network.

COSPEC measurements were made from the boat and helicopter today. The boat run gave a flux of 300 tonnes of sulphur dioxide per day; the helicopter run gave a flux of 360 tonnes per day.

GPS sites were set up at Dagenham and Brodericks which will run tonight with the continuous stations. A visit was made to Chances Peak steps to find the pin that used to be used to set up an EDM reflector site. The EDM line between here and Lower Amersham will be measured once the gassy fog between the two sites clears.

Residents should continue checking Radio Montserrat in case there are sudden developments in the state of the volcano.
