Daily Report
Report for the period 5 p.m. 22 July
to 5 p.m. 23 July 1998

The volcano has remained quiet today. 13 rockfall signals, 10 volcano-tectonic earthquakes and 1 hybrid earthquake were recorded by the seismic stations.

Yesterday two sets of COSPEC data were collected, one by boat and another by helicopter. The two types of data were in close agreement with each other and a mean measurement from 4 boat runs and 2 helicopter runs was 1300 tonnes per day of sulphur dioxide.

Dust levels were low at all stations today.

Residents should continue listening to Radio Montserrat in case there are sudden developments in the state of the volcano.
