The volcano was quiet today. Over the last 24 hours 12 rockfall signals and 2 volcano-tectonic earthquakes were recorded by the seismic network.

Temperatures were measured in the pyroclastic flow deposits in Fort Ghaut today. At the end of Lovers Lane, the deposits were up to 211 degrees centigrade at 2 m depth and, at Port Plymouth, the temperatures reached 145 degrees centigrade at 2 m.

Dust levels were raised at sites in Old Towne, Salem and at MVO in Mongo Hill today, but levels were low at the monitoring site in Woodlands.

Residents should continue listening to Radio Montserrat in case there are sudden changes in the state of the volcano.
