Montserrat Volcano Observatory

Daily Report
Report for the period 5 p.m. 11 June
to 5 p.m. 12 June 1998

The volcano has remained quiet today. The level of earthquake activity remained low with 3 volcano-tectonic earthquakes and 1 rockfall being recorded on the seismic network.

A team of MVO staff today travelled around the island on the Police Launch Shamrock II. Photographs and videos were taken that will help in mapping the deposits in White River. MVO would like to thank Inspector Morson and Corporal Foster for their assistance on the trip.

Dust levels were low at all sites today.

Residents are reminded that the volcano remains in a potentially active state, and that they should continue listening to Radio Montserrat in case there are sudden changes.
