The level of volcanic activity been low today.

Between 4 pm yesterday and 4 pm today, there were 15 volcano-tectonic earthquakes recorded by the seismograph networks. These 15 events were the ones that triggered the Short Period network, but these were part of a larger number of events of the same type.

Dust levels were low today at all sites.

A GPS occupation which started yesterday evening at Harris Lookout, Whites Yard, Spring Estate and South Soufriere Hills was completed today and the results are being processed. Further sampling of the December 26 material in Dry Ghaut was done today

Residents are reminded that the volcano remains in a potentially active state, and that they should continue listening to Radio Montserrat in case the present quiet situation at the volcano changes suddenly.
