to 6pm 16 April 1998


The level of volcanic activity over the past 24 hours has remained low.

Seismic activity remained low today: between 4pm yesterday and 4pm today 1 volcano-tectonic earthquake was recorded.

Visibility has been generally good for brief periods today and visuals of the dome showed no significant changes. Theodolite measurements were made from a new point in the White River Valley as well as from Jackboy Hill and Flemmings.

Overnight GPS occupations were completed and the data is being processed. The surveys continue with an overnight occupation of Perche

Dust levels at all monitoring stations remained low today.
