The level of volcanic activity over the last twenty four hours has remained low.

Between 16.00 yesterday and 16.00 today there were 9 hybrid earthquakes, 5 rockfall signals and 1 volcano-tectonic earthquakes. These events were all relatively small and scattered throughout the day. Three regional earthquakes also occurred this morning and there were two large mudflow signals during the heavy rain this morning.

Visibility was poor for most of the day with the dome area obscured by low cloud.

The EDM reflector on the remains of the northern crater wall has been shot twice in the last three days from Windy Hill. The line to Windy Hill has shortened by a total of 8 centimetres since the measurements began on January 25th.

Dust levels were low at all sites today.

Residents are reminded to remain alert and listen to ZJB radio.
