The level of volcanic activity over the last twenty four hours has remained low. Although there were some minor changes in the observed earthquakes

Between 16.00 yesterday and 16.00 today there were 8 hybrid earthquakes 5 rockfall signals and 7 volcano-tectonic earthquakes. One of the hybrid earthquakes triggered a small rockfall. At 1447 there was a high amplitude hybrid earthquake, followed 3 other hybrid events in the following 25 minutes. The high amplitude earthquake was located below the dome complex at a depth between 2-3km.

Improvements were made to the tiltmeter installations at Gages and Hermitage to reduce the effect of diurnal temperature variations.

Work continued on the installation at Harris Lookout for continuous GPS occupation.

Dust levels were raised a one site in Woodlands, but remained low at the other monitoring stations.

Residents are reminded to remain alert and listen to ZJB radio.
