Overnight, the volcanic activity has been dominated by an increase in the number of recorded earthquakes.

The first earthquake swarm, consisted mainly of volcano-tectonic earthquakes and occurred between 1930 and 2030. The second swarm, containing a mixture of volcano-tectonic earthquakes and hybrid earthquakes with larger amplitudes than those in the previous swarm, began around 0150 and is continuing at the time of writing. Rockfall activity remained low.

Residents are reminded to remain alert and listen to ZJB radio for further information.
