Seismicity has been at a slightly higher level today, with a small swarm of volcano-tectonic and hybrid earthquakes occurring between 1:00 and 3:00 this morning. There were also two periods of increased rockfall activity and tremor, one of which immediately followed the earthquake swarm.

Between 16:00 yesterday and 16:00 today there were 17 hybrid earthquakes, 6 long period earthquakes, 18 volcano-tectonic earthquake and 65 distinct rockfall signals.

Sampling work was carried out today on the deposits from the boxing day collapse on the delta at the bottom of the White River. Temperatures were recorded of over 150?C at a depth of 75 cm in these deposits.

Dust levels at all of the monitoring sites remained low today.
