Montserrat Volcano Observatory

Morning Report
Report for the period 6 pm 14 November
to 7 am 15 November 1997

Seismicity has remained moderate overnight with continued low to moderate-size rockfalls and small pyroclastic flow activity. These have probably occurred down the Galways side of the dome where recent activity has been focused however it is not possible to say for sure until an observations flight can be made today. Nevertheless, much of the older dome complex is composed of unstable material and it is also possible that the focus of growth may switch to another part of the dome so rockfalls and pyroclastic flows may travel down ghauts on any flank of the volcano.

Everyone is advised to listen to Radio Montserrat for any new information.
