Getting Help in Terascan

To get help with the Terascan XVU commands, select the online help in the window in question, or type man xvu in a Terascan window. To get help on a specific Terascan Command Line command, type man commandname. A complete list of Terascan Command line commands can be found by typing man terascan in a Terascan window. Some of the most used (and useful) commands are listed below:

       avcal     calibrates albedo and temperature
       avfix     repairs bad or missing lines of data
       nitpix    calculates sea surface temperature
       satvis    calculates cloud parameters and sea surface tem-

       tracks    creates overlay of platform  positions,  tracks,
                 values
       ingtov    calibrates and earth-locate HIRS/MSU data
       hirscdf   converts TOVS HIRS data into TeraScan datasets
       gac       creates AVHRR image datasets  from  GAC  archive

       addhist   adds text annotations to a dataset's history

       masksamp  masks data at locations given by a set of sample
