A gas and steam column was observed rising to 200 m above the summit
crater on October 17, 22, and 23 and to 800-1500 m on October 18, 19,
20; the volcano was obscured by clouds on the other days.  Continuous
volcanic tremor with a maximum amplitude of 0.38 microns is being
recorded 11 km from the volcano.
