Geological Engineering Minor (16 cr)

Geological conditions are often critical factors influencing infrastructure and resource development projects. Critical geological factors affect both the feasibility and design of projects in terms of both economic and public safety considerations. An aptitude in applying scientific principles and engineering skills to solve problems influenced by geological conditions is a valuable asset for professionals involved with such projects. A minor in geological engineering provides a basic set of technical, practical skills in the investigation, assessment, and design of systems pertaining to the earth and its resources (petroleum, minerals, groundwater).

The courses listed in this minor have the following prerequisites (shown in
parenthesis):
GE3800 ((MEEM2120 or ENG2120) and PH2200), GE3900 (GE3040), GE4400 (GE3040 and PH2200), GE4410 (GE3040 and PH2200), GE4610 (GE3040), GE4760 (GE2310 and GE3000), GE4800 (GE3850)
