Polar Satellite Instrument Status

NOAA-9: Launched 12/12/84

AVHRR: The AVHRR scan motor is in the low power mode. Thermal Control Electronics (TCE-24) was disabled on 04/05/91 to warm the instrument. Disabling of TCE-24 resulted in a stoppage of the sync drift and a significant reduction of the channel-3 noise from 15 to 2 counts. The patch power telemetry is affected by 6Hz. noise.

NOAA-10 Launched 09/17/87

AVHRR: Semi operational. An intermittent, brief noise burst is sometime exhibited. On 12/27/95 Channels 3 and 4 has degraded due to long term exposure from the sun during a safe state event.

NOAA-11: Launched 09/24/88

AVHRR: Non Operational. AVHRR failed on 09/13/94.

NOAA-12: Launched 05/14/91

AVHRR: Fully Operational.

NOAA-14: Launched 12/30/94

AVHRR: Fully Operational.
