General Observations
- more spatial detail in the 85 (and 37) GHz images
- 19 (22) GHz: polynya=cold; ice=intermediate; land=warm
- 37 GHz V: (same as 19,22)
- 37 GHz H: polynya:cold; ice=land=intermediate; arms visible;
- 85 GHz V: polynya=cold; ice=warm; land=intermediate; arms=dark;
- 85 GHz H: polyna=intermediate, almost the same as land, but a little warmer; ice is warm;

Lake Superior Image
- a comparison of SSM/I brightness temperature images of Lake Superior. Each image has been individually byte scaled to enhance ice features at that frequency (so Tb can't be compared directly between frequencies in terms of image brightness).
