Here are a few pictures of wildfires and their destructive force.

Control burns help clear brushy areas of a fires fuel. Backfires set by firefighters during a major wildfire helps in suppression.

The next 4 pictures are from the Stephan Bridge Road fire. I apologize for the slow download time.

Picture 1 shows the strange burn habits of this fire. Most likely the house that burnt didn't take necessary precautions against a wildfire.

The day after the fire swept through the area, this was the scene for almost 10 miles.

Here is another picture showing how this fire was highly selective in it's burn pattern.

This picture of the old Wakely School was taken minutes before it was consumed in the fire. At this moment the fire front is moving at almost 300 ft. per minute, far beyond the capabilities of firefighters.
