Alexandria, Missouri was very unfortunate because levee broke both north and south of town allowing the water to rush in quickly. Rebuilding efforts are underway and most of the residences are under renovation while the residents live in FEMA supplied trailer homes. Several volunteer groups, like the Mennonites are helping with the recontruction.

Many evidences of flooding can be seen throughout the town.

Once a concession stand, now a place for dumping ruined equipment. This building was totally submerged as the water lines extend past the rooftop.

This trailer home was moved several meters. The walls, made from particle board, absorbed water and disentigrated.


Small buildings, trash, and other debris left piled along the railroad embankment as the flood waters receded.
