Although much information is available about El Nino, it is often technically based and laborious to read. If successful, this page will avoid both of those pitfalls and will serve as both an overview and tool to access more indepth information on this very complicated event.

This animation depicts the temperature anomaly found in the Pacific Ocean. The unusual warm body of water located near the equator is due to this year's El Nino event. While watching this animation, one may see just to what extent this El Nino has grown.
