Geology Club meeting
Wednesday,
September 12, at 6:30 pm
in the Dow Atrium on the sixth floor.

Anyone in the department is invited to attend for joining geology club,
Society of Exploration Geophysics, Association of Petroleum
Geologists, and any other geo-related clubs or societies for which
there is sufficient interest in estabolishing a student chapter. As
for the geology club, we will plan potential field trips and
activities throughout the year, including a collecting field trip
where we will (hopefully) use our funds to bulldoze a rockpile in the
Keweenaw for collection of specimens that have been covered up with
tons of rock for the last century. I will bring several interesting
mineral specimens to the meeting, and I suggest that anyone else who
has found any interesting minerals recently bring them as well to
show to the club. Hopefully we will also be able to bring in a
speaker or two to discuss some recent geological study and those of
us who have had interesting field trips/co-ops/internships this
summer will be willing to present what they did as well.

Hope to see many of you there,

Josh Richardson
Geology Club President

New Faculty and GTA Orientation Aug. 27
Orientation sessions for new faculty and GTAs will take place the week of Aug. 27 in the Wadsworth Hall Annex, G11W, and will include lunch.

The schedule has been posted to the Center for Teaching, Learning and Faculty Development website.
