Inducted into the Academy 1999

Retired Manager, Canada Talc Industries; Mining Engineer with several Canadian mining companies including Noranda Mines (Noranda, Quebec), Kerr-Addison Gold Mines; Participated in exploration projects as a bush pilot and as geological assistant in the Northwest Territories with the Geological Survey of Canada; WWII service as a flying officer with The Royal Canadian Engineers and the R.C.A.F. as a pilot in the European Theater of Operations; Member, MTU Presidents Club, Lifetime Member of the Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario and the Canadian Institute of Mining & Metallurgy; Member, American Institute of Mining Metallurgical and Petroleum Engineers (AIME).

Harry (Bud) E. Roscoe graduated with a BS degree in Mining Engineering in 1946 from the Michigan College of Mining and Technology. He was a member of Sigma Rho fraternity, the American Institute of Mining Metallurgical and Petroleum Engineers (AIME), the Ski Club, and the Camera Club, and he also served as Class Agent.

During WWII he was a flying officer with The Royal Canadian Engineers and then he transferred to the R.C.A.F. to serve as a pilot overseas in the European Theater of Operations.

Harry is an Upper Peninsula native, born in Hancock, Michigan. In his professional career he was employed by several Canadian mining companies including Noranda Mines (Noranda, Quebec), Kerr-Addison Gold Mines, and Canada Talc Industries. He served as Manager at Canada Talc Industries until his retirement in 1967.

He also participated in exploration projects as a bush pilot and geological assistant in the Northwest Territories with the Geological Survey of Canada.
Harry has been a member of the MTU Presidents Club since 1987, and he is a lifetime member of the Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario and the Canadian Institute of Mining & Metallurgy.
