Edges of Greenstone flow

Greenstone Flow

At this location, the Greenstone Flow thins. It appears that the top of the flow must have flowed over a slope in what is now a westward direction, as though a lava pond was overflowing. The general attitude of the flow now is a 32 degree dip to the NW. So there is a steep face on the SE side, where columns mark a popular rockclimbing area and a more gently sloping NW side.  Along the middle of the flow is a region marked by basaltic pegmatite as the sketch map shows.
