Phoenix Mine
 
Greenstone Flow

Phoenix is a mining site with a shaft and workings, along with a poor rock pile. There are amygdaloid minerals to be collected, although the pile is picked clean by collectors. Analcite and native silver were highlights here.

But the centerpiece of this site is the great Greenstone flow, which is the outcrop above the mine and its dump. Here you can see the layering of that flow, with a lower ophite, columnar jointing and ophitic texture.  You can also see the Pegmatite zone of the flow.
