Marika Piirak Dalton
Skylight,
lava flow in Hawaii, 2002.
Welcome to my homepage. I am a graduate student at Michigan Technological
University, persuing a master's degree in geology. My research, hobby,
and passion is volcanology. My specific interest is in hazard prediction.
My first hands on encounter with volcanology was a volunteer position
at the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory, in the spring of 2002. The experience
was amazing and crystallized my determination to become a volcanologist. My
goal is to become a well-rounded geologist, developing skills that are valuable
for hazard prediction and mitigation.
People I've worked with- thanks for the
guidance and encouragement!
