Haikus

Haikus are an old form of Japanese poetry.  They are composed of three lines based on the number of syllables.  The format is 5:7:5

a good site to find out more is: Haiku for People

Some of my own Haikus for dealing with life:

Living in Hancock/Houghton

crunching of the snow
the white silence takes over
i can hear nothing
    -armeda-

engulfed in whiteness
the night is as light as day
confusion takes over
    -armeda-

much snow falls down here
my car is no longer seen
i hate shoveling
    -armeda-

School/work related

too many papers
the pile rises higher
grading never ends
    -armeda- (for my mother)

hazards exist here
make a map to understand
bright colors explain
    -armeda-(for my hazards prof)

Too much studying

i'm not what you think
the numbers take over me
my mind is breaking
    -armeda-

my life is changing
new journeys have given way
where will i end up
    -armeda-
